This post is incredibly late but you've probably guessed that my LJ is going to be quiet for a while. Life just caught up with me and isn't at all conducive to writing anything besides papers. Thanks for your friendship and your comments while I was still able to enjoy it. I'll check in from time to time to see you're all doing.

If anything does ever come up, most likely I'll post on FF.net instead of here. Lame, I know. Check it out when you have the time.

Untitled sequel: Chapter 2
Bones Shocked

I'm not writing fast--I've actually just been stockpiling. =D Unfortunately, this is the last whole chapter I've written so it may be a while before the next one comes out.

In case you didn't realize it, this is going to be a Tokka fic. As of yet, I am not sure if Katara and Zuko will make an appearance. I'm trying to plan this one out better than I did Out of the Gray, but I'm still kinda winging it. We'll see where the spirits take me.

On with the show.

The first thing Sokka became aware of was the salty taste in his mouth. The second was the excrutiating pain radiating up from his arm. The third was Toph's raised voice. Collapse )

Here's a great list of charities that are working in Haiti right now. Do what you can.

Still untitled rewrite of Out of the Gray: Chapter 1

I do love the idea of Sokka as secret agent. He's just that kind of guy. I'm about halfway through Chapter 2 so hopefully that'll be up tomorrow. I'm definitely leaning towards just having this a Sokka/Toph story rather than mixing it up with Zuko. One of the many challenges of Out of the Gray was having to switch voices to write for both of them. It was too much! I am but one humble writer!

Anyway, here's chapter 1. Does anyone have any title ideas? Maybe it'll be more obvious as the story comes along.

Sokka woke up to the gently rocking motion of a ship at sea. He laid in his bunk for a few moments, wide awake, but listening carefully to the sounds above him. Collapse )

Fun little contest going down over at katara_zuko. I threw my hat into the ring, but there are some great drabbles that have already been posted. Check them out: Winter Drabble Contest.

Untitled rewrite of Out of the Gray: Prologue

Well here it is. This fic is a lot more effortless than writing Out of the Gray/Into the Black was which hopefully means I'll finish it. Fingers crossed!

Comments (and crticisms) more than welcome. I need help!

Zuko stood on the balcony of his bedroom, his eyes tracing the graceful canals and gently curving roofs of homes in the capital city of the Southern Water Tribe.Collapse )

(Thanks to sableambiguity for a very quick and very necessary edit.)

Alright...I did it...

I started rewriting Out of the Gray/Into the Black. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'm just not happy with how it turned out the first time. I attempted to start writing the conclusion, but I couldn't. Turned out, it was easier to just start over again.

In retrospect, I definitely wrote it too quickly and was burnt out from writing by then. I should have stepped back and just let it come to me...kinda like how Somewhere in Between and Tales from an Ice Cube had. Anyway, I've got a prologue and first chapter done, but it remains untitled.

As always, I'll use my LJ for comments and crticisms about this fic. You all will be my beta readers--if you're interested anyway.

2010 will be the year I finish with this series....

Zombies attack!

My sister gave me a great Christmas present this year: World War Z. Now, I have been primed with this book having killed tens of thousands of zombies playing Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2, but even so, it was a very surprising and entertaining read. I literally could not put it down and finished it in a day or so. Max Brooks' writing-style is simple (and irony-free) and gave the story a feeling of authenticity. Anyway, go get it so we can talk about it!
